We got a really good deal on some surplus wood for through the City of Riverside and had Freeman help me pick it up. Then rented a wood-splitter and proceeded to become reel mountain people ;). Now we have about 3 cords seasoning for next year.
While we were out splitting wood on a Saturday, we had a dog wander into our yard and hang out with us all day. He was very playful and super well behaved. He didn't have a collar and we didn't want him getting hit by a car so we let him out back with our dogs and posted some Lost Dog signs the next day. On that Monday we got a call from the owners - who promptly asked us if we wanted to keep him!!! We felt awful for him cuz he was such a great dog! So after some quick debate, we decided we were going to become a 3 dog family. So meet the newest member of our family . . . Duke. He's an awesome German Shepherd. Still very much a puppy at 1.5 yrs. He loves the kids, loves long walks, likes to fetch just about anything (including snowballs), and "talks" to us when he's excited. We are soooo in love!
Next, Matt and I went on a cruise during Thanksgiving break. We have not been on a vacation minus kids, ever. So we booked a super cheap 3 day cruise to Mexico and enjoy a couple days to ourselves. Totally worth it!!!!
We got our first snow of the season. Not very much though . . .
We went to the parade of lights in town. It's always fun to go to small town events - even if they're kinda hokey ;). We got to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus too.
And last, but not least, my parents got another puppy. We heard that Ruby's parents had been bred again so now they have her little brother, Diesel. He's a cutie!! And Kelly even likes him (she always says she doesn't like Ruby LOL).
